About the Kino

The Kino is an independent cinema in the heart of Fife, showing new releases, family favourites and the occasional hidden gem.

We’re owned and run by locals who share a passion for cinema. You’ll find us in Glenrothes town centre, an easy trip from Markinch, Thornton, Kirkcaldy, Leven, Cupar and Dunfermline.

What we show

Alongside the big releases there’s a lot you won’t find everywhere: indie films, action and horror, anime, and anniversary screenings of classics back on the big screen where they belong. Our screens

We have three screens - Screen 1 seats 156, Screen 2 seats 110 and Screen 3 seats 20. All three are available for private hire.

Every screen has comfy sofas. Screens 1 and 2 pair them with classic cinema seating along the sides, and Screen 3 has a row of leather recliners. It’s the thing regulars tell us they miss when they go anywhere else.
